I have been collecting quotes for a very long time – in fact I reckon it would be about 47 years now since I wrote my first quote in my teenage diary. It was Ralph Waldo Emerson – and to this day he remains my favourite. My very first quote is there on our Emerson page: A Successful Life.

Why a quotes website? Often when reading inspiring words by famous people, I wrote them down as a reminder. My mother-in-law and I were discussing the idea of creating a website one day. As both of us had a collection of quotes, gradually the idea of this quotes website evolved. Here is the (growing) result of our collecting.
