Winnie the Pooh Quotes, Hunny Stuffed

Winnie the Pooh Winnie the Pooh quotes, on the surface, may seem to refer to necessary woodland activities, such as climbing trees, tunneling, foraging, problem solving, and friend rescuing.  But a closer look at the words of a quote by Winnie the Pooh will reveal simple wisdom treasured by children and adults.

Edward Bear was gifted to Christopher Robin Milne, the son of British writer A.A. Milne, in 1921.  That bear would be the inspiration for Winnie-the-Pooh, who first made paper appearance in the December 24, 1925 edition of the London Evening News, in a story for children, authored by A.A. Milne.

Pooh Bear's name comes from Winnipeg, a bear at the London Zoo, and a swan named Pooh (you'll find that swan in early works).  Christopher's original stuffed bear can be found in New York City's Donnell Library.

The first Winnie-the-Pooh book, titled Winnie-the-Pooh, was published in 1926.

Bear of Very Little Brain Becomes Shrewd Businessman

By 1931, Pooh was grossing over $50 million per year.  There were books, stuffed animals, records, board games, puzzles, and radio shows.  And they were all selling like honeycombs.  In 1961, Disney purchased rights to Pooh, releasing films, television shows, life-size characters, and novelties galore.

Disney added the fulltime red t-shirt, deleted the hyphens from the bear's name, and first brought him to life in the 1966 animated film, Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree.

Always Rumbly in the Tumbly

Maybe Winnie the Pooh is so endearing because he embodies many of the qualities we find undesirable in ourselves.  He's packed on a few pounds.  He's always hungry.  He's not the sharpest stick in the woods.

But, above all, he's a loyal friend and the bearer of practical wisdom.  Quotes from Winnie the Pooh uncover his true heart and lovable nature.

Pick up a Winnie the Pooh quotation today.  Just like a "smackerel of hunny," we believe you'll find it uncomplicated, disarming, and downright delightful.
